Gia's is the best place to have you're hair done in new york state. Yes its a bit expensive but well worth the money. she made the whole experience great and she is super friendly! i had cut my own hair and it was a disaster! she didn't criticize me as most stylists would instead she fixed it and we laughed about the whole situation. i would recommend Gia's to everyone who wants to have a great experience. she was also very informative as to how to care for my hair after which is great. to top it all off they have a clothing boutique which is all named brands at a reasonable price. this being said i have read other reviews especially on yelp that are in fact not true. this place is wonderful and i hope everyone considers giving Gia's a try!

I have requested fairly difficult haircuts multiple times, and she has delivered each time. My favorite cut, which I have requested by showing her some pictures of what I was looking for, is a relatively tight taper (male pompadour). Its very short on the lower edges of the hairline and length and thickness increase up and to the top of the scalp. It allows both a professional (I've worn it to interviews), and trendy look. Best, it cost about $35 each time, which included a shampoo before hand. Also, she's very nice, and the cut hasn't taken longer than 30 mins (which for a busy dude like myself is ideal). Definitely a positive experience. The owner is a very friendly woman with reasonably prices, and if you're an asian trying to find a place to get your haircut this is the place to go. The regular places in collegetown and the commons are atrocious and overpriced. This is the best and most convenient place to go if you want to get a good cut.

Gia's is GREAT! So friendly, fairly priced, always a great cut with a very personal atmosphere. All the other 5-star reviews were right -- I'm so glad I picked this place over others. Just as a note, Gia's is a combination clothing store/salon, two doors DOWN from the barber shop in the same shopping center -- I made this mistake the first time. Highly recommended!
