Olena's Day Spa

This place is pretty nice. At first I was a little put off by how low flow it was, and the first two appointments I got a strange vibe. But, after 8 appointments and some price comparison to other facilities offering the same services this place is the most bang for your buck. The facility is clean and well organized. They have a long list of services they provide. I wasn't a fan of how during the first few appointments they left my door open while I was having procedures done, but when I mentioned it (used my voice) they never did it again. I preferred the woman over the man because she seemed more willing to adjust the procedures to me as an individual vs. the man who seemed to just go exactly by the instructions/book. I wasn't initially going to renew my package after the first one ran out, but once I started working with the lady, I changed my mind. She is all business, which can turn some people off, but I'm looking for a great result and I don't care what personality I get for that price. I gave it 4 stars because, like I said, it took me a bit to warm up to this place. I would no have a problem referring anyone here. I used to go to a place in the Lloyd center, but they actually cost DOUBLE what Olena's cost. I'm sticking with Olena.
I only used laser hair removal and it worked awesomely at first and then once I stopped all my treatments and spent all that money the hair still came back despite the fact that I was a prime candidate given hair color and skin color. They said I would need to come back for more but why would I spend the money and pain if in the end it would just come back. Waste of money but Gordon was very gentle and great to work with.
WORST hair removal experience EVER! Gordon was an incredibly nice person at first....until I had something to complain about. My husband and I were not happy with the results of the treatment at all and when we made that clear Gordon got very aggressive. I'm not kidding you. He was about to kick my husband's ass. It was very very very scary. Talk about professionalism! This was not the only experience i had. I had done other sessions in another city and the result was MUCH better than at Olena's. DON'T SPEND YOUR MONEY THERE. Hope I was able to help.
I called Olena's Day Spa last Saturday morning asking if I could book an appointment at the last minute for a hip and thigh treatment. I had been dieting and exercising for months but while my muscles were getting stronger, I was only gaining weight with the exercise and my fantastic hips were not decreasing in size, so I was really frustrated. I was given an appointment with no problem. I wound up arriving early. The interior of the spa is absolutely gorgeous. The decor is very unique and tasteful, designed with a kind of 1800s elegance while maintaining all the modern amenities. Also the artwork on the walls was very beautiful and I could see that a lot of time and care had gone into the interior design. The staff are all well-dressed, friendly, courteous, and professional. I first waited about 15 minutes in the downstairs reception, and then went to see the girl in the upstairs-reception, to ask if I should just come back in a bit (since I was early). Instead, she offered that I could use the treadmill while I was waiting, which was perfect! So I used the treadmill for a while and then she offered me to use the steam bath while I waited, explaining that this would made the treatment more effective. The steam bath was very powerful and effective - not like some I have been in. I could not see anything but steam - and I could feel it working and cleaning the skin. Olena, the owner of the spa, came and took me for my treatment. Again, she is very professional, everything went smoothly (I had never been in a spa before so it was all very new). She explained everything she was doing and she also gave me some excellent advice regarding my diet, including some things I had not thought of before but which made a lot of sense. (I have studied a lot regarding health and nutrition so I am not dumb on the subject, but she pointed out factors I could easily change in my diet, which I had definitely not known about or realized). The treatment consisted of vigorous exfoliation, a kind of massage (I think it was lymphatic), and a wrap in seaweed and some other things I forgot. After this treatment and about 1/2 hour in the wrap, I cleaned off in a jacuzzi in a gorgeous old fashioned bathtub. Okay, so that was all good. But a few days later I started noticing changes to my hips and thighs. First of all they were firmer, it was very obvious if I lay on my side and put my hand on my hip, and my husband noticed and mentioned this as well. Then my clothes started to get loose around the hips (also noticed by my husband). And around Tuesday, I stepped on the scale and found that I had lost about three pounds since my last measurement two weeks earlier, and weighed less than I had since early January when I had started exercising. Yes I am watching my diet and yes I do exercise regularly. I have also been running more miles in the last several weeks, than I had been before. And I also followed Olena's advice regarding my diet. So some of the weight loss could be attributed to those factors. But I really think the major change was that spa treatment. Up till that point, it felt like th weight was just "stuck" to my hips and wouldn't move, despite exercise, Hoodia, Acai Berry, Colon Cleansing, Herbal Teas, full days eating almost only vegetables, etc. I am sure all those other factors helped, but it was after the treatment that I saw a more dramatic change begin to occur. This treatment is actually supposed to be done 10 times, but after only one treatment, I already saw results. I live 2 hours from Portland so I can't go to the spa every other day, but I am definitely planning on going back whenever I can.
