Hair Club
Reviews
I've been a Hair Club customer for almost three years. The hair looks and feels 100% real, and I've never had a single problem with it. It says on while swimming, in the hot tub, playing sports, whatever. I've even had a few people pull on it on accident, still with no problem. The hair is an investment to be sure, but here were never any "hidden costs" after the procedure. I see a few other negative reviews on here, and since I did a lot of research before making this decision, I've seen similar negative reviews online about procedures like this. Here's what I think is happening.... When I FIRST had the procedure done, I indeed had some reasonably serious issues with how the hair looked and fit on my head. But you know what? Instead of freaking out and demanding my money back, I went back to the staff and told them of my concerns. They worked with me and we tried a few different things. It took about two weeks of experimenting, but once that was done I had hair that looked *fantastic*. That was several years ago and I still have the hair, still very pleased. Perhaps some people are more picky or nervous about the procedure. I don't know, but if you're a man, and you have thinning hair you hate, Hair Club is the place you need to be. I'm in my early 40s and people (including women) say I "look like a college student". They sure as hell didn't say that when I had my thinning hair. I have never regretted going to Hair Club. You won't either.
I ended up getting 1/2 my initial 3,500 back after a phone interview with me vs. 2 stylist a receptionist and a lawyer. The BBB was a help after the third person. I had the wrong style fit and glue. Long hair that matted on the first day. I had to have it reapplied after the first time because they glued it to my neck. It was an expensive stupid investment that I thought would help me. I am a women who had thin hair for 30 years and wanted to do something for myself. It was not going to stay on for swimming,it came off in the shower. I asked all the right questions and was told that it would be around 195.00 monthly for upkeep. That turned into 350.00 a month. That is the bottom of the wrung for maintaining this bad hair. I have been with Wigland in Portland. I can walk in and get a beautiful wig natural hair for 225.00 acrylic for 36.00 to 130.00 every 3 months. Highly recommend going and seeing a wig salon BEFORE you look any Hair Club for men or women.
I have had thin hair since I was 18 due to a medical issue. I went to consult with the Hair Club in Tigard Oregon, and decided to join the club. I was sold on the idea that I could style the hair how I wanted to, wear it swimming, and wear the piece without taking it off. The nightmare began starting with the first application of hair. I asked several times what the cost would be, and each time the answer was vague and glossed over. I was told that it was too much information and that we would just take one step at a time. After spending $3,500.00 on ordering the first hair piece I waited for 6 weeks for it to come. When they put it on, it did not fit perfectly, but I was so excited and emotional about having hair that I let the staff reassure me that the fit would be corrected. The staff then told me AFTER putting on the piece that to maintain the hair, and continue ordering pieces, the basic package would be an additional $3600.00 a year or around $300.00 a month. There were also additional costs of using their products to maintain the hair. They also told me that every I was expected to tip the staff. Even after paying all of this money I continued to have the following problems: The fit was never corrected. The hair matted up and stuck out. The hair piece did not last as long as quoted. The piece came off, the "space age" glue did not hold it on. The color was never right. I decided to end my membership and was THEN told that I did not own the hair but was only "leasing it" and was asked to return the piece. This club preyed on my emotions, was not up front about costs, and did not give the product they promised. I have decided to go with a traditional wig.
