Embellish Multispace Salon
Reviews
Staff are incredibly warm and friendly and were able to give me a haircut that even me, someone who never styles their hair, can keep up. An incredible feat given how unruly and thin it is which has never looked better than after a trip to Embellish. Wonderful art shown and great hair and beauty products also sold. Amazing scalp massages as well as eyebrow waxing services. Your hair is cut in front of beautiful big windows that look over down town Tacoma showing most of it's landmarks.
I have been going to Embellish now for years. Love the place, the atmosphere is kicked back and casual and a little funky. However this is not why I go. I go because I have naturally curly, very fine hair. I have always had a hard hard time getting a cut that works with my hair. Once I find some one who can do that, well I don't want to go anywhere else. Heather knows what she is doing with curly hair and unlike most places I have gone in the past where they have my hair cut in like 15 minutes, despite the fact my hair is short she invests almost an hour getting it just right. I can also go back any time for a bang trim for free which is nice since it extends the time between cuts a bit. Trish has cut my hair as well and they both do a great job. I get a slightly different cut each time although it is similar to the last. They pretty much work with what my hair wants to do which is the key to working with curly hair in my opinion. Have always liked every cut I got there. They have also cut my little girl's hair ( in fact she got her first cut there). They always make her feel so special and she loves it too and the cuts are cute cute cute.
I found this gem of a salon through Urban Exchange Annex on Pac Ave (also a fabulous place) & decided to try them out. I could not be more pleased with my decision! Susan & Trish did a corrective color, from nearly black to honey blond, in 1 appointment (with lots of hard work & patience of course). Honestly it was my 1st time at a new salon that they actually listened to what I wanted & followed through. + all the girls were so nice & fun to talk with. The overall experience was lovely!
I went in on a Tuesday to see one of their new stylists for a 1/2 price coloring, Eleanor, and had an amazing experience. Eleanor worked with the owner, Trish, to ensure that my hair was amazing. It did take a long time, but it was well worth it. I like the atmosphere of the salon and the positive attitude of the people working there. Trish and Eleanor made my hair cut look great too, and their styling advice was very helpful. My husband loved my hair and so did I! Can't wait to go back.
I was excited to come here after reading the hype, but walked out with a very bad cut. I loved their boutique and the comaraderie, but was unhappy with my hairstyle. It did notfit my face and I paid $115 for something that looked like a bowl cut and all over color with 2 tones that you could not tell the difference between. The stylist hacked off my bangs when I specifically said DO NOT BUTCHER my hair. She definately did her own thing and ignored what I wanted as a customer. I even told her that she cut my hair way too short and the stylist would not make eye contact with me at the register. It seemed that she was aware how bad it actually looked. After washing the product out, I bawled looking at the choppy mess. I came back the next day,Trish, the owner, helped to fix it, but had to cut it even shorter! I have almost no hair left. My cut is the token lesbian butcher chop on a straight girl. I hate my hair! I cried while she was cutting my hair off to fix what the other stylist screwed up. Because it took 4 months to grow out from the last bad cut it was especially hard to deal with, yet again. The owner Trish offered to wax my eyebrows and said the next cut was on her, but she forgot about the wax when we were done with fixing the haircut and I just did not feel like reminding her or calling her on the favors. Its definately a shame, but I will not trust my hair at that salon again. Trish is not new, but it looks like some of her stylists are and maybe she had a hard time managing the new stylists. If you are going to try out this salon, go with Trish. I cannot go back to Embellish. Its been 4 weeks since the hair drama and I still hate looking in the mirror. Its very unflattering.
