Lynn's Day Spa
Reviews
Mixed. The women's bathroom in the entrance of the day spa was neglected, there was no toilet paper in 2 of the 3 stalls, the 3rd stall was plugged up with toilet paper, one of the drains was plugged in the sink and one of the faucets didn't work. The girls behind the counter were uncaring and irritated when I mentioned the condition of the bathroom they said it wasn't their responsibility but that of the property management company. The couches were comfortable while waiting but there was no hot tea or cucumber water to drink other than make it yourself tea. While the overall spa lacked ambiance and professional styling the rooms were warm and inviting. Our group of 4 had mixed reviews with only one very skilled massage therapist out of the group -- Ask for Gil if you go. I highly recommend her.
I had a wonderful experience at Lynn's day spa. The receptionists were friendly and kind. They have a lovely waiting area and I enjoyed my massage. I'm definitely coming back.
Waiting rooom too dark for me. I know this is a Spa and the dim lights are suppose to relax you, however, the dim lights freaks me out. Looking for someone else who does eyebrow coloring in the Columbia area
I used to like Lynn's, but (1) after I removed the polish from the last pedicure, I had what appeared to be a fungal infection, (2) you have to walk down the hall and way into an empty office suite just to go to the bathroom -- really yucky and unappealing, and (3) the last time I made an appointment, they didn't give me a reminder call and I had put the wrong date in my calendar (admittedly my fault) -- and they charged the FULL AMOUNT of the service I missed, with absolutely no offer to come in later, receive a discount, or any sort of customer-friendly discount or "gosh, we're so sorry this happened." I go to spas to relax, not to get more stressed out. I've had it. They are just not customer-oriented and don't try very hard to make your visit relaxing and calming.
CAUTION: THEY DOUBLE-DIP FOR THEIR BRAZILIAN WAXES I recently went here for the first time. The service I had was a Brazilian wax. I am originally from Maryland, but now live in New York City so when inquiring about waxing I was taken back by the pricing and service model. When I arrived I was asked if I wanted a "regular" (just the front) Brazilian or "extended" (the back side included) which was something I have never heard of. All other wax experiences at different establishments have this included for one flat price which is how it should be, however here they charge you $10 extra for the extended. What put me off the most is that when I asked if they had a "no double-dip policy" (the same spatula will NEVER be re-dipped into the vat of sugaring gel/wax!) they had no idea what I was talking about! I then explained what I meant and was told yes, they do not double dip; but once in the process of being waxed that was NOT the case. If I am paying a minimum of $50 for a wax, at a spa at that, I would expect a germ-free visit. When I pay $35 normally for a Brazilian wax in New York city with a no double-dip policy I was highly disappointed and disgusted that this is not done here.
