Dolcissima Salon And Spa
Reviews
I recently went to Dolcissima to get my hair and make-up done for a Boudoir shoot for my fiancé's wedding present. The girls at Dolcissima gave me exactly the look I described to them. I appreciated the fact that they listened to what I wanted and did not get carried away with their own vision or what they felt like doing. Missy gave my hair lots of volume and curl (it lasted all day) and Jen nailed my make-up. I felt beautiful. I highly recommend.
I'd given Dolcissima a 2 star review on Yelp. Nicole (the owner) called me to tell me that Yelp was a scam. Funny, I've been using it for reviews for years and rely on Yelp to find new things I haven't tried. I generally find that a place lives up to it's good/bad reviews. I always cancel out the glowing 5 stars given by people with 1 or 2 reviews and do the same for the 1 star (and few reviews). I've found business owners who don't give a customer a great experience point the finger at EVERYONE else (the Reviewer! Yelp! Facebook! Don't believe any reviews! Unless they are glowing!!) - that really really ticks me off. Take responsibility for the fact YOU, the owner, need to address criticism. Anyway...Nicole called me and went into this tirade against Yelp. Then she told me that Karen (who asked 2 different people to TRIM my pixie until Nicole finally end up cutting my hair) had been new, but she has come a-long way and is doing awesome. Then she told me she would love to do my hair (free of charge) for a hair class. I told her to contact me in January or February. In the meantime, I noticed all her "bad" reviews on Yelp were hidden. I guess she couldn't hide mine because I have been reviewing (both good and bad) for a few years. Well, she never contacted me. What Ev. There is nothing worse than a business owner who blames the customer or makes excuses for a poor experiences or so I thought until I ran into the business owner that blamed the customer, promised to 'make it right' but never carried through.
I had my hair done here for my brother's wedding a couple of years ago and liked it so much I'm having my hair done there for my own wedding in a few months. I just had a trial done at a bridal show. Nicole listened to what I wanted and nailed it! I have family members who have been customers here for years and have always had great things to say.
Love this place. My daughter introduced me to it several years ago and Nicole has been doing our hair for years. its a very contemporary place with great staff. Nicole will be doing hair for my daughter's upcoming wedding.
I have gone to Dolcissima Salon and Spa since it first opened and have had Nicole as my stylist for 10 years. I leave completely satisfied after every appointment and absolutely refuse to go to anyone else for a cut. I don't even have to tell Nicole what I want anymore, I can sit down and know that Im going to LOVE my look when she's done. Stephanie
