Coal Creek Barbers

Dan did a great job. He took his time even though others were waiting. I appreciate that. Just because he is in high demand does not mean he doesn't take care of you n
Nice people but I just had the worst haircut in my life. I am thinning a bit on top and asked that the barber take the top off a half inch. Instead she brought it down to a half inch. I will now need to skip the reunion I planned to attend this weekend back east because I look worse than I have ever looked before. I would expect a barber to understand that when someone asks for a trim on top they mean it. Brutal and embarrassing. Holy cow! Speechless!
Love this barbershop! Brought my 15 year old in for a serious trim today. His hair was pretty long. Mike made him look like a new man :) My husband is next!!!! They are skilled and love supporting local businesses.
Walked in yesterday. Got in chair in under an hour (that is why it almost got a second star) the lady was nice. I asked for a "crew cut". She didn't know what I was talking about. I have been going to barbers since I was 5 both military and civilian in the Spring, Army and Alamosa and never once ran into one who didn't know what a "crew cut" was. Not a big deal, hey its not a military town but irritating. So I described it to her. What I got was something between a (crooked no less) flat top and a bald head nothing close to what I had described. When she showed me the mirror at the end there wasn't enough hair left to do anything but shave it bald when I got home. Maybe it was on me and my description. SO I let it go. Side note I told her that I had planned to take my full beard down to a go-t later so she didn't need to do anything with it. $15 for a shave, no thanks.. Good thing I planned to shave it because she weed whacked halfway down both cheeks and left that wreck uneven as well. Sigh... Then I tried to pay using my American express. (Lots of smaller places don't take amex so I make a point to check before committing. On the door there is a sticker that lists visa, master card, discover, one other I think AND amex. Cool we are in business) She tells me they don't take amex. I mention that there is a sticker on the door that hints that they do. She tells me that no there is not. (I can see the little blue sticker from where I am standing) Then the guy with the chair near the door snaps "We don't take American express!"... yeah heard it the first time... Fine not worth my time. I give the lady some cash get my change. No tip for a bad hair cut and leave thankfully never to return. I should have spent the $15 at walmart on some new clippers for the nice buzz cut that my wife gave when I got home. Of course after she laughed at me for my "jacked up" hair cut..
